Claire Adele Ruttenberg, almost 100 years of age, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, on November 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ida Goldman.

Claire graduated from Camden High School and spent her professional career serving as the Payroll Manager for the Camden City Board of Education. A trailblazer before her time, she rose through the ranks into a respected management position through sheer dedication and hard work.

Claire was the loving wife of the late Marvin Ruttenberg, whom she married in 1948; they shared 38 years of marriage before his passing in 1986. Family was Claire’s ultimate priority. She was the keeper of family events, never missing a school production while working full-time.

She adored her children, Lynne Shapiro and Ilene Greenberg. She cherished her grandchildren, Stephanie Bregman, Stacey Collman, Michael Greenberg, and Richard Greenberg. Claire was further blessed with four great-grandchildren: Sydney, Zoe, Samara, and Noah. She was the beloved sister of the late Jo Mattelson.

Beyond her professional and family life, Claire was highly active in her community, volunteering for numerous charities and her synagogue.

She served as the Secretary of the Baseball Fan Club of America, passionately following sports and her beloved Philadelphia Phillies. Claire enjoyed knitting, playing Rummy Q, reading, visiting the theater, and hosting large holiday meals.

Her legacy of faith, tradition, and work ethic lives on through her daughters and granddaughters.
