Barbara Mae Cohen Obituary

Obituary
Barbara Mae Cohen, affectionately known to all as “Bobbie,” passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 85.
Bobbie’s professional life was defined by her dedication to early childhood education and community leadership. After studying the field, she taught at a nursery school, then opened her own nursery school at Temple Beth-El on Long Island, where she served as both its director and teacher. She later transitioned into a career as a Realtor before retiring to enjoy her passion for card playing. A lifetime member of Hadassah, she cherished her Jewish upbringing throughout her life.
Bobbie was the cornerstone of her family, known for a beautiful mix of gentle steadiness and quiet strength. She was the loving wife of Mel for 65 years. She was the adored mother of Amy, Marcy (Jeff), and Jill. Bobbie was also the cherished grandmother of Rachel (Justin), Dana (Kevin), Hillary (Dylan), Allison, Jacob, Josh, and Adam, and the proud great-grandmother (“GGma”) to Blake, Corey, Jade, and Eli.
A true “girls’ girl,” Bobbie was a dependable, loyal, and honest friend who maintained deep connections across New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Her smiling face, positive attitude, and “go-getter” mentality will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her legacy of love remains woven into the hearts of her family, L’Dor VaDor.
