Joyce Kahane Obituary

Joyce loved to experience the world. She traveled to Italy with a dear friend, and later with Steve and Alisa through Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. She came home from those trips filled with stories, wonder, and gratitude, always seeing the beauty in the world around her.

She also found joy in the simple things. Sunday mornings meant bagels and lox at her house, our family tradition filled with laughter and connection. Holidays and special occasions were celebrated over Chinese food, something that became uniquely ours. And there were Costco trips, racing through the aisles to fulfill her “honey-do” list, a chore that somehow never felt like one because it was a pure act of love.

Beyond her family, Joyce was blessed with an extraordinary circle of friends through the Chavurah group at Temple Beth El. These women were more than friends; they were like sisters. They shared years of laughter, love, holidays, and life’s moments together. Their friendship brought her joy, companionship, and a sense of belonging that meant the world to her.

Joyce excelled at every endeavor she took on, not just because of her intellect, but because of her genuineness and care. She gave endlessly, loved deeply, and asked for very little in return. Her kindness, steadiness, and quiet humor made every part of our lives better.

Though she is no longer with us, her love will always surround us in the family meals, the shared laughter, and the lasting friendships she treasured so dearly.
