Fatima “Sherry” Gilston Obituary

Fatima “Sherry” Gilston, beloved wife, adored mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2025.

Born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1948, Sherry immigrated to the U.S. with her mother at the age of 12 and proudly became a U.S. citizen shortly thereafter. Her life was marked by resilience, grace, and a deep commitment to the family and faith. In 1997, she embraced Judaism at her temple in Maitland, FL, a reflection of her enduring spiritual devotion.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Gilston; her adored daughter, Jessica Dellinger; her stepchildren, Jay Gilston (Jill) and Alyssa Nussman (Doug); and her cherished grandchildren, Duke, Lily, Ava, Ella, and Brody. She is also survived by her faithful dog, Lucky, who brought her great joy and companionship.

A gifted hairdresser, Sherry owned and operated her own salon in New Jersey, where her warmth and artistry touched countless lives. Even in retirement, she continued to care for a few special clients, including her beloved husband.

Sherry found happiness in the simple pleasures of life – tending her flowering and vegetable gardens, nurturing her home, and sharing laughter with those she loved. After moving to Lake Worth in 2001, she built a life filled with warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her devotion to the people and pets she held dear. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
