Carol Lynn Sterneck Obituary

Carol Lee Zimmerman Sterneck was born on April 21, 1946, to Sylvia and Isadore Zimmerman in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1976, she married Barry Sterneck, son of Reva and Herbert Sterneck, in St. Louis.  

She attended University City High School and the University of Missouri, earning her degree in Elementary Education.  

Carol began her teaching profession by teaching the only children in the elementary school who were shorter than her, the kindergarteners!  

After over 25 years of teaching school and working at the Sylvan Learning Center, Barry and Carol retired and moved to Stuart, Florida.  They loved the warmer year-round weather and being close to their Florida family.  Several years later, they moved to Delray Beach, Florida, to be closer to their family.  

Carol loved riding her three-wheeled bicycle around the neighborhood with her beloved dog, Frankie, in the front basket, greeting all of the neighbors!  

Carol was a devoted wife to Barry for 47 years, sister of the late Lynne Rich, loving sister-in-law to Patty Beck and Barbara and the late Norton Sterneck, and fond aunt to Sharon and David Kaiser, Michelle and Steven Sterneck, Hiroko and Robert Sterneck, Jill Holmes, Staci Graef, Steven Beck and Sari Ganulin, Ryan and Jennifer Beck, Rochelle Rich and Scott Rich and too many great-nieces and great-nephews.  

She will be greatly missed by her family and so many wonderful and devoted friends!
