Obituary

Dr. Michael Walin was born on March 11, 1927, in Paterson, New Jersey, and is the son of Russian immigrants Anna and Nathan Walin.

Growing up in a culturally rich environment Michael was taught the values of hard work and perseverance by his parents who came to America for a better life.

In 1946 at age 19 Michael married Evelyn, and they were together for 70 years.  They had two children, Steve and Sherry, who were raised in a home filled with love and learning. 

Micheal practiced optometry in Paterson for 50 years where he cared for thousands of patients.

After retiring in 1996 Michael and Evelyn moved to Florida and enjoyed the sunshine and new experiences the state had to offer.  In retirement, Michael enjoyed golf, card games, and travel.  He loved the camaraderie of the golf course, the strategy of card games, and the adventure of exploring new places with Evelyn.

The family was always important to Michael.  He was a proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and loved to hear about their accomplishments and offer guidance and support. 

His love, dedication, and kindness will live on in his family and all who knew him.

May Michael’s life and memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

He will be remembered by his family, friends, and the community he served.
