“You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself” (Leviticus 19:18)
James Steven Fleischer
September 20, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of James Steven Fleischer announces his passing on Thursday, September 20, 2018. “Jim” will be forever remembered by his children, Gabrielle Fleischer, Edye and son-in-law Mike Graning, as well as by his grandchildren Josh and Aaron Graning and many nieces and nephews. His former wife Shula Fleischer survives him. Jim was predeceased by his sister, Margarite (Bobbie) Kirsch.
Jim was born in Detroit and was an avid fan of the Pistons, Lions and Michigan Wolverines. He loved the Motor City and was proud of the cars it produced. Even after retiring to South Florida he continued to brag about the city of his birth.
He graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and San Francisco.
He was the owner of Oliver Street Collision in Troy, Michigan and Maxie Collision of Farmington Hills, Michigan. He believed in serving his community, supporting SADD and youth sports teams and was honored to serve as president of the Farmington Rotary. His energy and humor will be missed.
