Myrna Margarita Mogell Obituary
Obituary
Myrna Margarita Mogell (Malka), age 94, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 21, 1932, to the late Sam and Sadie Lankin, Myrna lived a vibrant, joyful life centered around her family and passions.
Myrna was the devoted wife of Earl Mogell, whom she married in 1951. She enjoyed a loving marriage of 68 years with Earl, her best friend and partner in world travel, until his passing in 2019. A powerhouse mahjong player with a wonderful sense of humor, Myrna could often be found sunbathing by the pool or enjoying time at the beach. She was a talented cook and host who entertained beautifully on the holidays, though she was best known for making the world’s best matzo ball soup and egg salad.
Warm, welcoming, and always smiling, her first impulse was to ensure everyone around her was well-fed and comfortable. She had a deep affection for animals, especially the many dogs she had throughout her life, and loved sharing stories about them. Above all, she possessed a special gift for bringing comfort and cheer to anyone who was feeling down.
Myrna adored her children, Kenneth & Annette Mogell and Lezlie Mogell. She cherished her grandchildren, Kelsey Mogell and Katie Caine, and was immensely proud to be a great-grandmother (“Gigi”). She was a beloved sister to Marilyn Goldberg and Adrienne Levy.
Her warmth, hospitality, and legacy of love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
