“You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself” (Leviticus 19:18)

Melvyn Cohen Obituary

Melvyn Stanely Cohen obituary picture where he is surrounded by roses and has a big smile on his face.

A true testament to his character was displayed by his devotion to his family, friends, and those he valued. He had a huge heart without the need for recognition. Mel was a man of few words, preferring to be an observer rather than a contributor; being in a room watching his family enjoying life gave him silent pleasure. He was a dependable, loyal, trustworthy, and honest friend. The generosity of his words, time, and money will be remembered by those whom he cherished.

Mel studied at the University of Rochester and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, he became a stockbroker and then settled into his final career in the transportation industry in Newark, New Jersey. He and his wife, Bobbie, retired to Florida, where playing cards, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and dining out were their passions.

He held his Jewish heritage very close to his heart.

His sense of humor, quick wit, belly laugh, and love and support for his family will be deeply missed. These qualities have been woven into his family’s hearts and legacy: L’Dor VaDor.
