Dr. Eli Ira Blitzer, a retired general dentist and commercial real estate developer, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born in Haifa, Israel, on August 20, 1939, Eli spent his life building a profound legacy of professional excellence, community service, and deep devotion to his family. He was a resident of Boca Raton, Florida.

Eli’s educational journey began at the Yeshiva of Hudson County and Dickinson High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He earned his Bachelor of Science from St. Joseph’s College and later received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. He went on to practice general dentistry for 45 highly successful years. Alongside his clinical practice, Eli was an accomplished commercial real estate developer, serving as the original developer and owner of both the Manalapan Professional Center and the Triangle Plaza Professional Building, and as a partner in The Home Fashion Center in Manalapan, New Jersey.

An active community pillar, Eli was named Man of the Year by Congregation Sons of Israel and received the Gratitude Award from the Jewish Family and Children’s Service. He was also a founding contributor to the Chabad of Western Monmouth County. Outside of his work, he was an avid golfer, tennis player, and a dominant force in pickleball, winning the New Jersey State Pickleball First Place title in his age division three consecutive years in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Eli was the loving husband of Lisa Barbanell Blitzer, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. He was the adored father of Daniel (Julia) Blitzer, Ronn (Geena) Blitzer, Stacey Zimmer, and Neil Blitzer. He was also the cherished grandfather of his six grandchildren. Eli was an easygoing, dependable, and remarkably generous man who brought a smile to everyone he met.
