Stephen Lewis Schwartz (October 15, 1939–May 1, 2025)

Born in Irvington, New Jersey, to Fredda (Weinstein) and Arnold Schwartz, Steve was raised in Newark, New Jersey. The family, including his younger brother Jonathan, moved to Hillside, New Jersey, where Steve graduated from Hillside High School.

He was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving two years in Honolulu, Hawaii. After a brief stint at Temple University, Steve graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in business administration.

Steve’s business career was vast and varied. He originally worked for the Campbell Soup Company and then participated in building a family lighting business. He ventured off into his own small businesses, including successful golf retail stores, and then an online marketing company.

He was a great natural athlete. He established many loyal friendships over his lifetime. Ultimately, he was an excellent golfer and always offered cogent advice about the golf swing, whether people wanted to hear it or not!

He was a father to four children—Andrew (Dina), Donna (Jeff), Matt & Dave.

He was a devoted POP POP to his four grandchildren—Sydney Banker, Ethan Schwartz, Kyle Banker & Jasper Schwartz.

Notably, everyone has a funny story about Steve Schwartz. He will be fondly remembered by all.”
