Obituary

Leonard Stephen Sheiner passed away on December 14, 2023. He was born on January 21, 1940, in the Bronx, NY to Jean and Bill Sheiner. He was one of four children: Sheridan (deceased), Joan, and Ronald.

He attended the High School for the Performing Arts where he learned to play several instruments, including the oboe and clarinet, and received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.

He married his wife of 60 years, Linda, on May 12, 1963. They had three children, Jeffrey, Jill (deceased), and Steven, and five grandchildren: William, Rebecca, Joey, Brody, and Erin.

Leonard worked for IBM for 32 years. When he retired, he volunteered to mentor kids both academically and musically. As a member of the Lions Club, he aided the visually impaired with the collection of donated glasses. His love of music continued late into life, performing with the American Legion Band, where he played the oboe.
