Claudia Plafsky Obituary

Claudia Marie Plafsky, 66, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Claudia was born March 17, 1957, to Gordon and Patricia Parks in Fort Huachuca, Arizona.  She graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland in 1974.  She most recently worked in real estate marketing and graphic design.

Claudia is survived by her wife and best friend, Beth A. Caputo; sisters, Susan Miller (Gary) of Warrenton, VA, Dorothy Shober of Frederick, MD, Kimberly Cole of Swanton, MD, Deborah Wulff (William) of Windsor, CO, Valerie Smith (Landon) of Kernersville, NC, Beverly Parks of Germantown, MD; and many nieces, nephews and very close friends.

Claudia was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Hunter Parks, her father, Gordon Merritt Parks, her stepmother, Elizabeth Tunnell Parks, and her brother, Kevin Richard Parks.

Her canine companions were dear to her.  Remington and Drayton have stayed behind with Beth, but Sophie and Oliver are on a long walk with her now.

Claudia was a beautiful person inside and out.  Her smile would light up an entire room.  She cared so deeply for her family, her friends, and the people around her.  She was kind, passionate, generous, and loving.  She made an impact on so many lives.

The family of Claudia wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton, and the many doctors who cared for her over the years, as well as Trustbridge Hospice Care for the time they spent with Claudia and the care they gave her at the end of her amazing life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Giving Tree of Temple Beth El, an organization about which Claudia felt strongly.

Claudia is and was the strongest person I know. She fought endlessly during her battle with cancer and never gave up! She is my hero! She was a beautiful and very special person with a heart of gold. Her radient smile lit up the room and she always had us laughing at the office with her funny jokes and sense of humor.
She will be missed terribly and will forever have a special place in my heart!

From the moment I met Claudia, her warmth, laughter and creativity just overflowed with sweet joyfulness. A tender, caring spirit with a phenomenal “can do” attitude. Always so captivating to me in beautiful, expressive ways. She has been an example of such pure and precious human spirit to me. I am deeply, deeply saddened to hear this news only a few moments ago. My heart is thinking of you Claudia. So many gifts you have given us all. What a beautiful legacy you leave here on earth to grow. I will always think of you and keep your memory alive. Sending you a big, fat, tight squeezing hug up there in the heavens! I love you.
