“You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself” (Leviticus 19:18)
July 7, 2021
Carol Michelle Lipman (Rayer) was born on July 1, 1956, to Norman and Pearl Rayer in Queens, New York. She was raised in a small, two-bedroom apartment along with her older brother, Mark, in Douglaston, New York.
Carol graduated from Bayside High School in 1972 when she was only 16 years old. Thereafter, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an associate degree in 1974 and began working in the children’s clothing market in Manhattan. While continuing to work, she went back to school and graduated from Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in 1978.
Carol met her future husband, Jeff Lipman, on a blind date in 1978 while the latter was in his last year of dental school. They were engaged four months later and were wed that summer on August 12th, 1979.
Soon after marriage, Carol began attending Hofstra Law School where she graduated in 1982. Although she practiced law for some years immediately after being admitted to the New York Bar, she spent the vast majority of her professional career managing Jeff’s dental practice in Hunting, New York, where the couple had settled in 1985.
Carol had two sons—Adam (1983) and Brett (1988) – whom she loved deeply and to whom she was unendingly devoted. Nothing else in her life mattered more to Carol than her family’s happiness, and to that end, Carol’s happiest days were when she gained two beautiful daughters-in-law when her sons married their wives, Danielle (married to Adam June 2017) and Brittany (married to Brett in October 2019).
Carol and Jeff eventually retired to Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla in 2015 where Carol made incredible friends, played cards, learned golf, and continued her lifelong passion for physical fitness.
Carol passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the age of 65. Her husband and two sons were by her side.
