Obituary

Arleen Pearl, age 94, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away peacefully in her home on January 23, 2021, with her loving family by her side.

Arleen was born in 1926 to the late Hillis and Rose Dropkin. She was the loving wife of Herbert Pearl (d. 2002) and sister of Martin Dropkin (d. 2019). Arleen and Herb raised their two children, Jim and Cindi, in Allston, and then in Marblehead, MA.

After graduating from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1943, she went to Mount Ida College, graduating in 1945. She worked for a short while as a social worker, but soon met her beloved Herbie, and started her family. Arleen is remembered for her commitment to family, fashion, and friends. She loved to travel, but her greatest love was her family, with whom she shared her “pearls” of wisdom. Each member embraced her words and had a deep love and respect for her.

She is survived by her son Jim Pearl and his wife Annie of Sag Harbor, NY; her daughter Cindi Richards and her partner Ron Yorks, of Canton, MA; her granddaughter Jennifer (Pearl) Nyberg and her husband Andy of Marblehead; her grandson Jarret Pearl and his wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM; her granddaughter Ariana (Pearl) Selby and her husband Joe of Marblehead; her Granddaughter Brette (Richards) Rothschild and her husband Jeremy of Bellingham, MA; her grandson Chad Richards and his wife Maura of Mansfield, MA. She was the loving great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren: Maya, Adam, & Serena Nyberg, Jackson, Talia & Nathan Selby, Solana & Konik Pearl, Jake & Taylor Rothschild, and
Scott & Hunter Richards.

Memorial Service

Arleen will be laid to rest next to her husband Herbert at Temple Israel Cemetery in Peabody, MA.

A private memorial service will be held this spring/summer.
