Curt Newman, a resident of Palm Beach for over 50 years. Passed away November 3, 2020.
Born in Germany in 1928 and a survivor of the Holocaust.
He ran an international property investment. company, with offices in London, New York, and Palm
Beach. A familiar face at Cafe L’Europe and The Breakers Beach Club, and a long-time member of The
English-Speaking Union, Palm Beach Branch. An intellectual, true gentleman with a kind, encouraging
nature. Studied and taught history, political science, and idolized Sir Winston Churchill. Besides
his residences he enjoyed summers in Monte Carlo, going to theatres, Annabel’s Club and The
Knightsbridge Hotel in London. Curt always had so much drive, energy, and passion for his real estate
business. Arranging meetings between his closest friend in Germany, Joseph H. Domberger, who was
President of B’nai B’rith International at the time, and some of the top real estate developers in New
York, Miami, and Chicago. He was very successful at connecting the right people together.
Much appreciation for the assistance of Father Gabriel Ghanoum, his social worker through the
Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and the kind attentive and caring physicians and staff
of the JFK Medical Center.
May his Memory be a living benediction to his humanitarian survival.
