Obituary
Kevin Roy Koffman of Miami, FL passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, after an ongoing battle with heart disease, he was 58.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 36 years, Donna; son Dan and his wife Dana of Washington, DC; and son David and his wife Loredana of Woburn, MA. He is also fondly remembered by his loving mother Ronnie Koffman of Boynton Beach, FL; sister Carol Garr and her husband C.J. of Tucson, AZ; sister Connie Koffman and her husband Robert Eagles of Plymouth, MA; and brother Ken Koffman and his wife Kathy of Boca Raton, FL. He will be sorely missed by his two grandchildren, Harrison and Emma; his cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends and loved ones. He is predeceased by his father, Harold Koffman.
Kevin (aka Kevino, aka Koff, aka Dad, aka Pops) certainly left this world earlier than he should have, but he made a lasting impact on so many family members and friends during his time on this Earth. He was a member of Miami Palmetto High School’s Class of 1977 and a graduate of Florida State University. His constant humor, intellect, wit, and charm were a persistent spark to the lives he came across each and every day. A true Renaissance man, the narrative of his life is full of endless stories and reflections of living life to its fullest, moment by moment.
He was extremely accomplished throughout his career in sports and in business. He had extensive experience in sports media, sports administration, and sports commentary. He worked at Miami Jai-Alai; the Class-A Miami Marlins; and the Miami Tropics; and was President of Universal Sports Consultants, representing primarily professional baseball players as an agent. He loved his time on the airwaves, as host or co-host of several hit radio shows, such as “SportsBeat with Anik and Koffman;” “SportsWorld Collectibles Show;” “Touching all the Bases with Kevin Koffman;” and “Timeout for Trivia,” all on 1510 the Zone (WWZN) in Boston. The lives he touched were forever changed due to his youthful enthusiasm, natural charisma, sharp wit, and mostly, the love for his family and friends.
